Sky Reflections : 14-24mm Wide Angle Shot

This shot was taken with the Nikon 14-24mm lens which really helped add some drama to the clouds and reflections. The processing was pretty basic, I found this lens seems to make the color more saturated than normal. The main adjustment I made in Lightroom was to the highlights which have been increased to give the image more contrast, this helps accentuate the texture in the sky and clouds. I also added a small amount of extra saturation in the hill areas to bring out the greens. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Leigh Boat Shed Landscape. Taken with a Nikon D3 processed in Lightroom.

I shot this image near Auckland in New Zealand, I really like the texture in the foreground. The textured surface was pulled out with Lightroom - I used a number of gradient filters to increase the contrast, clarity and exposure. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Abstract Photographic Art. Lightroom Color Grading

I took this amazing abstract shot through the glass at the Melbourne aquarium. I really love how bizarre these look. The main processing used in Lightroom was to shift the blue away from the bright sky blue background color. I wanted into a more muted aqua color. I did this by selecting the blue in the color palette and shifting the tone, I then desaturated the blue to make it more muted. I also added some subtle yellow tints on the highlights. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Black and White Child Portrait. Shot with 14-24 lens processed in Lightroom

I took this shot in front of the National Gallery of Victoria in Melbourne. The light in the entrance way to the gallery is really amazing. There is a huge glass wall with water flowing over it that helps diffuse light coming from the rear, and then a huge curved entrance arch that helps shape the light from the front. It seems to do great things for eyes when taking portrait shots. This image was processed in black and white using Lightroom, I used the brush tool to help brighten the face slightly. Gradient filters where used on the background to darken the edges. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Black & White Queenstown Landscape. Shot with a 14-24 Nikon lens, Lightroom black and white conversion

Here is a black and white version of the previous Queenstown landscape shot. This was taken in the same location but I used the 14-24 Nikon lens to make the scene a little more dramatic, I think the clouds really help this image. I then used Lightroom for the black and white conversion. I tinted the desaturated image by adding a touch of yellow to the highlights, and darkened the edges with gradient filters. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Sunrise landscape, shot on Nikon D3 with a 60mm Nikon lens, processed with Lightroom.

I caught this early morning sunrise in Queenstown New Zealand while I was having breakfast. I really like the serene feeling of this shot, the jetty adds a nice graphic element to the overall image. I used Lightroom to enhance the sunrise light source - I did this by brushing over the sunrise and the horizon reflection on the water. I then brightened up this area and slightly defocused it to help make it more subtle. The defocused area was achieved by using negative sharpening and clarity. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Ocean Boats : Shot with a Nikon D3 and 24-70 f2.8 Nikon lens. Processed using Lightroom.

This was taken in Auckland New Zealand about a week ago. I really like how the peak of the hill pops through the mist. The image was taken on a Nikon D3 and a 24-70mm f2.8 lens. I used the processing to help simplify the shot, and also bring out the hill top. The color was added by tinted gradient filters used on the top and botton of the image. I also used Lightroom to brush in some warm light across the misty horizon. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Queenstown Landscape Processed in Lightroom, shot on 14-24 Nikon lens

This was my first chance to try out the 14-24mm f2.8 Nikon lens on a landscape. This lens does amazing things with clouds and reflections. The Lightroom work in this image consisted of a few different treatments, the main one was to increase both the vibrancy and saturation across the whole image, this enhanced the blues nicely, but over saturated the orange colors in the trees. To compensate for this I did some selective desaturation with the orange and yellow tones which fixed this problem. I also applied the brush tool to the tree horizon and added small amount of extra exposure to bring out the details. To finish off the image I sharpened the tree areas slightly and then brushed some subtle yellow light into the cloud areas. This part of New Zealand is amazing at this time of the year, if you are in the area Queenstown should be on your list of stop overs. CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom. Fresh Green Lemon Leaves Processed Using Lightroom

This shot was taken on a 60mm Macro lens under natural light, I wanted to achieve a very fresh look so I added a few water droplets. The processing helped the fresh look, this was done by adding split tone color, a turquoise blue was added to the shadow areas and a yellow lime color to the highlights. I also managed to sharpen the water droplets to help them stand out more, I then finished the image by darkening the top and bottom with a gradient filter - this was tinted to match the cool color palette. I thought the finished result would work well on a piece of lemon tea packaging! CLICK HERE to learn more about Adobe Lightroom.
